54 Percent of the Top iOS Apps Also Available on Windows 8

Microsoft still struggles to bring more high-quality apps in the Windows Store and it appears that its efforts are finally paying off.

According to a study conducted by research firm Infragistics, no less than 54 percent of the top iOS apps are also available on Windows 8, with figures likely to grow in the coming months.

The company selected a total of 100 different iOS apps, excluding games, and checked for availability on other platforms, such as Windows Phone, Android, and Windows 8.

It turns out that Microsoft has until now convinced more than half of the top iOS developers to port their apps to Windows 8 and things are expected to improve significantly in the future, as several large companies, including Facebook, are currently working on Metro tools to be used on Windows 8
