Check Out a 150-Gigapixel Panorama of Tokyo, the Biggest
Ever Created in the City
Gigapixel panoramic images
have been around for a year and, while the race for the biggest seems to have
slowed down, more and more interesting photos from all over the world surface.
A new panoramic shot of Tokyo, captured from the Tokyo Tower may not be the biggest gigapixel photo out there, but the location sets it apart.
It was captured by Jeffrey Martin, who runs 360Cities (the place where gigapixel panorama enthusiasts call home) and who has many similar projects under his belt. One of them is the current record holder, a 320-gigapixel image of London, made up of 38,640 individual shots.
The Tokyo panorama has only 150 gigapixels, but that's more than enough for a very detailed view of the city. The image was shot in September 2012 and is made up of 8,000 individual photos
